WEEK 11
In Week 11, I will begin creating my motion design, starting with developing my assets. I will also seek feedback from my teacher and peers to help refine and improve the motion graphic. Their feedback will be helpful in addressing any inconsistencies in the design and enhancing elements that will strengthen the visual and emotional connection.

Feedback
The art style in my animatics lacks consistency, featuring a mix of outline, geometric, abstract and 3D (worm eye view), which detracts from the overall cohesiveness. Additionally, the character doesn’t convey much personality, making it harder for viewers to connect. To enhance the emphasis, I need to decide whether to speed up the motion or freeze certain moments for impact.
For the title design, it’s crucial to create a look that aligns with the overall style while inviting the audience to breathe along with the animation.
This unified approach will help strengthen the narrative and engage viewers more effectively.

Title Design #2
Initially, I created the title design using a script font (line), but I realised this choice didn't align with my style, which is more neat and shape. I decided to switch from Poppins and Adobe Handwriting to the Gilroy font for a cleaner look.
My goal was to design the title in a way that encourages the audience to breathe along with the animation. I incorporated a pulsing effect that makes the text appear and disappear, accompanied by a richer gradient that adds depth and visual interest. This approach not only enhances the overall aesthetic but also invites viewers to engage more fully with the message.

Production
I learned how to create 3D elements in After Effects, focusing on camera movements and exploring the X, Y, and Z axes, along with planning camera angles.
This discovery was significant because mastering 3D design adds depth and dimension to my animations, enhancing their visual appeal. Understanding how to manipulate camera positions allows for more dynamic storytelling, making the viewer's experience more engaging.
This finding is essential for my work as it enables me to craft more immersive motion graphics. By incorporating camera movements, I can effectively convey emotions and narratives, creating a more impactful visual experience for the audience.
Assets #1
Before starting my motion graphic, I focused on creating assets, beginning with character design. I sketched several options, make it more mature-like and have personality, and found one that I particularly liked.
After that, I created vector graphics, incorporating both blobs and rigid shapes. I preferred the asymmetrical designs to symbolise abstract and feelings of overwhelm effectively.
Additionally, I decided to change the colour scheme because the previous colours felt too fantasy and didn’t fit the theme. I explored various colour palettes and discovered a combination that resonated better with the overall concept, enhancing the emotional depth of the animation while maintaining visual appeal. I want to use a vibrant, colourful palette to convey the feeling of overwhelm, as it reflects the many different factors that can contribute to this emotion. By incorporating a mix of bright colours, I aim to illustrate the chaotic and diverse nature of overwhelming experiences. Each colour can represent different aspects of overwhelm, creating a dynamic and engaging visual experience that resonates with the audience and effectively communicates the theme of navigating chaos and complexity.

Reflection
I’ve learned the importance of maintaining a consistent design direction and art style throughout my project. This consistency not only gives the work a strong personality but also makes it easily recognisable as my own, distinguishing it from others. I also discovered the value of exploring various ideas, colours, and assets during the creative process. By trying different combinations, I can identify what best fits my motion graphic and enhances its impact. This process helps me make better decisions and ensures that everything comes together smoothly, creating a cohesive and unique final product.
