Final Reflection
This project gave me the opportunity to experiment with new techniques and really push my creative boundaries. One of the biggest challenges was managing my time while refining my ideas each week. It was tough at first, but the constant feedback and revisions helped me stay on track. Even when things didn’t go as planned, I learned to embrace those mistakes and see them as opportunities to improve.
I also learned to approach my work more thoughtfully. Early on, I focused on refining my ideas and setting clear goals. Using After Effects for the first time was a game-changer, it unlocked so many creative possibilities, like morphing and liquid motion, that helped me create the emotional impact I wanted.
As the project progressed, I realised how important structure was. Storyboarding and creating animatics helped me stay focused and guided my decisions. The feedback I received from peers and my target audience was invaluable. It helped me spot areas for improvement, like making the assets, motion, and transition. I also experimented with different ideas, colours, and assets to make more informed decisions.
Through this process of continuous refinement, I learned that mistakes aren’t setbacks, but opportunities to grow. Paying attention to the small details helped me create a more cohesive and impactful final piece.
Overall, this experience has strengthened my skills, expanded my creativity, and deepened my understanding of animation. I feel much more confident in my abilities and ready for whatever comes next.
